Poet in this sad poetry recalls his past and those merry days when he was with the one he/she loved. When they went, all the colorfulness of life and felicity has faded away… “when they went Saif, the night of grief got us, Went that moon, all the stars were gone” Thats the translation of the last shair of this Urdu Poetry.

Aey thy un kay sath nazaray chalay gaey,
wo shab wo chandni wo sitaray chalay gaey,
shayad umhary sath bhi wapis na aa sakain,
woh walwaly jo sath tumhary chgalay gaey,
kashti tarap kay halka-e-toofan main reh gai,
dekho to kitni door kinaray chalay gaey,
har aastan agarcha tera astan na tha,
har astan pe tujh ko pukaray chalay gaey,
sham-e-wisal khana-e-ghurbat se rooth kar,
tum kya gaey naseeb hamary chalay gaey,
dekha to phir waheen thy jahan say chalay thy ham,
kashti kay sath sath kinaray chalay gaey,
mehfil main kisko taab-e-hazoor-e-jamaal thi,
aaey teri nigah kay maray chalay gaey,
jaty hajoom-e-hashr main ham aasiyan-e-dah’r,
aey lutf-e-yar tery saharay chalay gaey,
dushman gaey to kashmakash-e-dosti gai,
dushman gaey kay dost hamaray chalay gaey,
jaaty hi un kay Saif, shab-e-gham ne aa liya,
rukhsat hua woh chand, sitaray chalay gaey,
